I have a G3 camera hub that’s connected to HomeKit, until recently it worked great where I could leave my house and the camera would automatically turn on. Recently, it now requires me to confirm to run the automation. On top of the automation it now says “ this automation requires confirmation to run because it may allow entry into your home” I contacted Apple about this and they said it’s how Aqara software is set up so ……
Is there a setting in the Aqara app I can change to make the camera come over as just a camera, not entry into the house. I do not own any door locks via Aqara.
@jacksonjager It sounds like you’re experiencing some unexpected behavior with your G3 Camera Hub’s integration with HomeKit. While the reference information doesn’t provide a direct solution to this specific issue, I can offer some general guidance.
Firstly, it’s important to ensure that your Aqara Home app and all connected devices are updated to the latest versions, as updates might resolve compatibility issues or software bugs.
Regarding your concern about the camera being recognized as a potential entry point, this might be related to the security settings within HomeKit rather than the Aqara app itself. HomeKit may categorize certain devices as potentially allowing entry for security reasons.
In the Aqara Home app, you can manage settings related to your camera and its security features. While specific settings to change how the device is categorized in HomeKit aren’t detailed in the reference, adjusting the security settings or modes in the Aqara app might help. You can explore these options by going to the Aqara Home app, navigating to your camera settings, and reviewing any security or automation settings there.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Aqara’s support team for more detailed assistance. They might provide specific insights or updates on this behavior. Additionally, engaging with the community here can uncover shared experiences or solutions from other users who might have faced similar issues.
