im just using all my Aqara Stuff just with HomeKit. Is it worth to include a hub ? At this point I don’t miss anything but might don’t like the benefits.
I have a M2 hub and only use it to connect older devices. I don’t use the app except for firmware updates.
What will be the extra benefit? I have a U200 lock with Homekit only, and quite happy with the setup.
You get extra options, for example delays or sensitivity adjustment for certain sensors. Also automations run locally if you have a hub. The M3 and the G3 I know Add a security system to HomeKit, you can combine this window sensors and have a DIY security system
With a hub like M2, you will get Matter interface which is pretty much the most latest trend in home automation space. With Matter, you will be able to make other matter enabled smart home devices in your home to interact with your Aqara devices in a local network without internet access. Which means your device automations continue to work even if there is a Internet link failure
