I’ve been diving into the world of smart home integration, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey! 
Today, I want to share my experience with integrating a Homematic heating group into HomeKit, which has made my life so much more convenient. First, let me walk you through the setup. I have a Homematic heating group in my OpenHAB setup, and I wanted to expose it to HomeKit for seamless control via my iPhone. The process wasn’t as daunting as I initially feared. I followed the HomeKit integration manual and managed to configure the channels and assign the device to a specific room in HomeKit. It’s amazing how everything just fell into place! One thing I particularly appreciate is how intuitive the integration is. Now, I can control my heating system directly from the Home app, and it even appears in the correct room, making navigation a breeze. No more juggling between different apps—everything is right where I need it! While I was at it, I also explored using Shelly Dimmer 2 for my lighting setup. It’s been a game-changer! The ability to control my lights through the same Home app has streamlined my smart home experience. I love how it integrates so smoothly with my existing setup—it’s like having a well-rehearsed orchestra playing in perfect harmony.
