Hello Homey community, I’m here to share my journey of migrating from Homee to Homey. While the transition has been smooth overall, I’ve encountered a few bumps along the way that I’d like to discuss and hopefully get some insights from more experienced users.
My Migration Experience
I’ve successfully migrated most of my devices, but the Flows have been a bit tricky. I’ve managed to get some basic ones working, but as I dive deeper, I realize there’s a lot to learn. I’m particularly curious about the following aspects:
- Lux Value as AND Condition: I’ve noticed that some devices don’t offer Lux as an AND condition. Is this a limitation of the device or something I’m missing in the setup?
- Time in Push Notifications: I’d love to include the current time in my Push notifications for better context. How can I achieve this?
- Flow Card Order: I’m wondering if the order of cards in a Flow affects the execution sequence. It would be helpful to understand this better.
- Device Notes: I’ve heard about the possibility of adding notes to devices or Flows, but I can’t find this feature. Has it been deprecated or am I overlooking it?
- Push Notifications on Web: I receive Push notifications on my phone, but I’d like to see them in the WebApp as well. Is this possible?
- Activity Log: I’m tracking some unusual behavior with my lights flickering occasionally. A comprehensive activity log would be invaluable for troubleshooting.
- Zigbee Routing Overview: I’d appreciate having a routing overview for Zigbee devices, similar to what’s available for Z-Wave.
Community Support
I’ve been impressed by the wealth of information and the supportive community here. Every time I feel stuck, a quick search or a well-timed question usually leads me to a solution. I’m especially grateful for the detailed documentation and user-contributed guides that have helped me navigate the learning curve.
Looking Ahead
As I continue to explore Homey’s capabilities, I’m excited about the potential to create more sophisticated automations. I’m particularly interested in leveraging the Flow editor to build more dynamic and responsive systems. I’m also curious about the integration possibilities with other platforms and devices, which I believe will enhance my smart home setup further.
