Homey Pro vs Apple HomeKit?

I have a Homey Pro (2023), but what are your experiences on using Homey Pro vs just integrating the Aqara Hub with Apple HomeKit and skip Homey as it is one more product that has to work.

Anyone has good automations they have needed to rely to homey for?

Any experiences on stability challenges by having “too many integrations”?

Using Aqara Hub, some sensors/buttons and locks, other systems for lighting control (that integrates into both apple and Homey).

I feel like it may be a bit of a personal choice, but

(sorry) I was burned by wink and eye-fi, so I like apple over homey.

Please, HomeKit works so well with my phone (and watch)

I love HomeKit, plain. No homey needed in my opinion. Nothing missed, especially if you do home assistant in the background.but Aqara and HomeKit could be enough in my opinion for great automations and keeping it simple

HomeKit devices are just a little pricey. Now that Matter works with HomeKit that should help

I’ve never heard of Homey Pro. I’ll have to check it out!

I think HomeKit is great alone when you use homecontroller app that gives you more automation and better control of the Home App.

I recently came across homey and set it up as a docker. I found it limiting unless you buy one of their boxes so you can get Zigbee, etc. Past that I was not able to find a use that I am not able to already create within Aqara or Apple Shortcuts.

I find Homey Pro most useful when I need complex automations and for integration of devices that don’t natively support Matter or HomeKit. If the Aqara hub and Apple HomeKit work for you, I’m not sure I would buy a Homey Pro.
