How do I get my doorbell into HomeKit?

I just got my doorbell which is the first of many Google items to be phased out of my life lol. It is in bridge mode, when I go to add to HomeKit it fails, then no longer appears as an option. What am I doing wrong?

Have you already added the doorbell to the Aqara Home app? If so, proceed as follows:

Aqara Home App → General Settings (small gray heading) → HomeKit → Button “Add”
