Got a new router how do you change the wi fi settings to new one. Thanks
I came across this same issue just yesterday.
First, I’d suggest changing the new router’s Wifi ssid name to the old wifi name. This will ensure all current devices connect without any internvention.
If for some reason (like in my case) you have to change the Wifi name, you have two options:
-
For newer hubs, like the M100, they have an option to “Change Wifi”, they need to have temporary internet to be able to set this option up. Temporary means setting up another access point with the old wifi name, or better yet have your phone’s hotspot the same old wifi name for the hub to connect to the internet.
-
For older hubs, you have to reset the hub, usually by holding down the only button for 10s, delete the device from Aqara app, and readding it. During the setup, the hub remembers all child devices, however if you’re using Homekit like I do, you will have to reconfigure all your automations/room assignment.
Hope this helps.
If possible, just set the login and password as they were and everything will work by itself. It is clear that everything will work. which is related to the gateways that work in the system. Automation will also work.
Thanks I’ll give it a try
