How Do You Handle Motion Sensor Zones Created by FP2 Motion Sensor in Home Assistant?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently using the FP2 Motion Sensor in Home Assistant and have set up different motion sensor zones, but I’m curious to hear how others are handling these zones. Specifically:

  • How do you use the zones in your automations?
  • Do you have any strategies for managing multiple zones for more precise motion detection?
  • Are there any best practices or tips for integrating FP2 with other devices or routines?

I’d love to hear about your setups and how you’re using the FP2 zones to optimize your smart home!

Looking forward to your insights!

My favorite automation is for my kitchen lights:

When Motion is detected in kitchen during the day: Dim to Kitchen lights 100% if lux is below 400

When motion stops: wait 2 mins then dim kitchen lights to 20%

Wait 20 secs the turn lights off.

At night when motion detected: turn on under cabinet lights

when motion stops: turn off cabinet lights
