How do you use your Aqara products with Siri Shortcuts / Home automations?

I’m always looking for new ways to automate my house, and one of my favorite automations is that, when I pull into my driveway, my Meross garage door automatically opens. I had to use a weird workaround by having a random lamp turn on when I arrive home and the lamp turning on causing the garage door automation to occur.

One of the automations I’d like to build out, though I have no idea how to get it to work, is to make the Apple TV turn on and open the Aqara doorbell camera when someone is detected at the door. Any thoughts?

If don’t use HomeKit integration, but Matter integration (Apple Home supports Matter), you can use Signal Sync (given you have the M3 hub).

Signal Sync is just a way to synchronize custom “WHEN” signals from Aqara automations to Matter. That’s why I use it with HomeKit. It’s a way to use Aqara WHEN triggers with HomeKit.

For example, I’ve used “No motion detected for 5 min” (with my P1 motion detection) to expose this signal to HomeKit and pause music on my HomePod.

I believe if you unbind Aqara from HomeKit integration and connect it again using Matter, you will be able to achieve what you want. You will then be able to configure a signal in the Aqara app as if you were to configure an Aqara automation, and Apple Home will see a “sensor” that will be activated when this condition is triggered

This is how it looks in my case (my iPhone is in Polish but basically Apple Home just sees this signal as a presence sensor)
