How Do You Use Your G3 Camera Hub? Any Tips to Share?

Hi all,
I’m curious about how everyone is utilizing their G3 Camera Hub in everyday scenarios. Are there any clever tricks or useful features that you’ve discovered? Whether it’s automating your smart home setup or unique ways to enhance security, I’d love to hear your experiences and tips! Let’s share our knowledge and make the most out of our G3 devices together!

In answer to this, I have a couple of very unique ways that it is used on top of being part of our security system. Gestures are good when combined with automation but we have them as a safeguard also. I have Tourette’s and Functional Neurological Disorder who means I can collapse into cramps where my body contorts. Also my partner has a disorder whereby she sees and hears visual and auditory hallucinations. For my part, Sammy can check on me when I’m home alone and for her, it helps her mental wellbeing by being able to confirm the hallucinations are not really present.

In my house everyone uses gestures to turn on and off the lights, TV, etc.
You can assign many actions to gestures according to your taste and imagination.

I use gestures to control devices, it’s a pity that you can’t use gestures of one and two hands at the same time, automation is also configured when the camera turns to the area where I need to temporarily see what’s going on there, and of course the security is also involved in automation.

Thank you profoundly for sharing such a personal and impactful account of how our product integrates into your daily life. Your innovative use of gesture controls as a safety net for both physical and mental health challenges is truly inspiring. It’s humbling to know the camera serves not just as a security tool, but as a meaningful support system for you and your partner’s wellbeing. I think this product will be honored to be part of your journey and wishing you both continued strength.

Thank you so much for sharing, gesture is indeed a great feature.Your household’s adoption of gesture controls is exactly the kind of smart living scenario I love to hear about! The idea of assigning personalized gestures for multi-device control (especially with family participation) demonstrates brilliantly how intuitive tech can enhance daily routines. Keep pioneering those imaginative setups – maybe a “gesture recipe book” could be your next community contribution!

Thank you for sharing your opinion. The inability to use both simultaneously is indeed a limitation, but we’re confident that through continuous product iterations and technological advancements, Aqara will deliver even more sophisticated features and products. Stay tuned for exciting updates!
