I’m well invested into the Aqara ecosystem with many hubs, switches, sensors, bulbs, etc. constantly hoping for the mythical firmware that will finally resolve all the little (or sometimes big) bugs with the products and deliver requested features.
I’ve recently found myself manually checking the ‘Firmware Update’ section of the app multiple times a day.
So just for fun, who else has this addiction and how many times a day do you check the ‘Firmware Update’ section?
Rarely, to be honest. When i open the app, and if there is notification - i go through it. But then again, they should improve, or rather “add” notification when there is new firmware available for any of the products that we own.
I usually just wait for the notification. Unless I read here on the forum that there’s a new firmware available. But you just gave me the idea to use the API for it
I just gave it a try, and it works pretty well. For some devices, like the G5 Pro Camera Hub, you get all the updates along with their release dates and details on what’s been fixed.
For other devices, such as the P2 contact sensors, however, you only get information about what appears to be the latest valid update, along with the note “Fix known problems” and a file size of 0 bytes. Strange. But it seems to work overall.
