Hey everyone! I’ve been trying to figure out how to add the Freevee app to my Echo Show 5, and I thought I’d share my journey in case others are struggling with the same thing. First off, I was really excited about Freevee because I heard it’s a great alternative for streaming content without the ads. But when I went to my Alexa app, I couldn’t find it anywhere! ![]()
After a bit of research, I discovered that Freevee isn’t directly listed in the Alexa app store. Instead, you have to download it separately on your phone and then sync it with your Echo Show. Here’s how I did it:
-
Download Freevee on Your Phone: Go to the App Store (if you’re on iOS) or the Google Play Store (if you’re on Android) and download the Freevee app. It’s pretty straightforward.
-
Sign In or Create an Account: Once you’ve opened the app, you’ll need to sign in or create a new account. Freevee is free to use, so no worries about subscriptions!
-
Sync with Alexa: After signing in, the app will prompt you to connect it with your Alexa device. Just follow the on-screen instructions, and it should sync automatically with your Echo Show 5.
-
Access Freevee on Your Echo Show: Once everything is connected, you should be able to launch Freevee directly from your Echo Show by saying, “Alexa, open Freevee.”
It’s such a relief to finally have it working! I was a bit worried I’d miss out on all the content, but now I can stream shows and movies without interruptions. If anyone else is having trouble, feel free to reach out, and I’ll do my best to help! ![]()
