How to Control Multiple Wyze Cameras Simultaneously

Hey everyone! I wanted to share a tip that might be helpful for those of you who have multiple Wyze cameras and want to manage them more efficiently. I recently found myself in a situation where I had six Wyze cameras installed around my home, and I was looking for a way to toggle motion detection on and off for all of them at once, especially when we’re away for the day.

After some research and trial and error, I discovered that while there isn’t a built-in feature for this, there’s a workaround using Home Assistant and custom scripts. I created a simple automation that sends a command to all cameras simultaneously. It’s been a lifesaver for me, and I thought I’d share it in case others are looking for a similar solution.

If you’re interested, here’s a brief overview of what I did:

  1. I set up a custom script in Home Assistant that sends the motion detection toggle command to all cameras.
  2. I created a button in my dashboard that triggers this script with a single press.
  3. I even added some visual feedback so I know the command has been sent.

This has saved me so much time, especially during the holidays when I’m coming and going frequently. I’d love to hear if anyone else has tips or tricks for managing multiple smart devices efficiently! :tada:
