Some users have reported that they damaged the RJ45 tail cable on the camera when installing the G5 Pro (PoE version). I have provided specific re-connection methods as follows:
-
The RJ45 tail cable of G5 Pro (PoE version) only has 6 internal wires, so you cannot directly connect it to a regular 8 wires network cable.
-
The following figure is a functional description of the 8 contacts of one RJ45 port for a regular PoE switch:
-
Please do not attempt to manually connect the 6-wire to 8-wire one by one (the consequence is that the connection impedance of the cable increases, the anti-interference ability decreases, and the data transmission efficiency is affected). The recommended solution is to reconnect the network cable through a connector, so what you need to do for the G5 Pro is rebuilting an RJ45 connector on the wire.
-
I demonstrated how to use RJ45 connectors to assemble each cable. In my case, contacts 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and 7 had cables, while contacts 4 and 8 had no cables. After connecting to a PoE switch, the device worked normally.
