I recently discovered a fantastic feature in my smart home setup that allows me to automate my backyard lights to turn on at sunset. It’s been working perfectly, but I’ve been trying to figure out how to integrate my motion detectors into this routine. The issue is that I want the motion detectors to activate only after sunset, but the system only lets me set fixed start and end times. This becomes a problem during daylight saving time and as the days get longer or shorter. I end up having to adjust the times manually, which is a hassle. I wonder if there’s a way to tie the motion detectors directly to the sunset trigger, just like the lights. If anyone has figured this out, I’d love to hear how you did it!
