Hub M3 bug when added new lights to Philips Hue Bridge

For some time now I have been using the Hub M3 to control my Philips Hue lamps using the, via Matter connected, Philips Hue Bridge.

Unfortunately, today I realized that lights I’ve newly added to the Hue Bridge are not automatically accessible in the Aqara app.

In order to access the new lights via the Aqara Home app/Hub M3, it was necessary to delete the Hue Bridge from the Aqara app and pair it again.

This is extremely unsatisfactory, as automation had to be revised, all light sources had to be assigned to the appropriate rooms and also had to be named in a meaningful way.

Same problem, even adding accessories

Do you mean Philips accessories like a motion sensor or non Philips devices?

Philips accesories

Ah, OK. I only operate lamps with the Hue Bridge. All the other smart home equipment I use (sensors, plugs, thermostats, …) are currently exclusively Aqara devices.

@AqaraBot why are lamps that I have newly added to my Philips Hue Bridge not listed in the Aqara Home app?

@memseeker I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’re experiencing with your Philips Hue lights and the Aqara Hub M3. The Aqara Home app currently supports adding Aqara or third-party Matter devices, including lights. However, newly added devices to your Philips Hue Bridge might not automatically sync with the Aqara app. As you’ve found, re-pairing your Hue Bridge can bring the new lights into the Aqara ecosystem, but this process can indeed be inconvenient.

The current workaround is to remove and re-add the Hue Bridge in the Aqara app. While this is not ideal, it allows the newly added lights to be recognized. It’s important to ensure your Aqara app and devices have the latest updates to improve compatibility and integration.

We appreciate your feedback and encourage you to share your experiences with the community, as it helps us understand user needs better. If the issue persists or requires further assistance, please consider reaching out to customer support through the Aqara Home app or by creating a ticket here.

I’m experiencing the same issue. I’m exposing some Home Assistant entities to Aqara via the Matter bridge from HA. Every time I add a new accessory to expose, I have to reboot the M3 hub for it to appear properly. In some cases, I even have to delete the pairing entirely and set it up again for the new accessory to be recognized.

This makes the process quite unstable and inconvenient for larger setups.

I have the same problem with Philips lamps and Aqara M2S. The problems with Philips starts after the last version update.

Yep, it would be highly desirable if the Aqara Hub would either synchronize the status (connected bulbs and other Philips accessories) at regular intervals, or there would be a button within Aqara Home app to manually trigger the synchronization to update changes made on the Hue Bridge side.

Personally, I would prefer the solution with the button for manual synchronization which keeps network traffic low.
