Hue Bulbs Not Resetting to Warm White When Turned Off

Hey everyone, I’m running into a bit of a snag with my Hue bulbs and I’m hoping someone can shed some light (pun intended) on how to fix it. So, here’s the deal: I’ve got two Hue bulbs set up in my bedroom lamps, and I’ve integrated them with SmartThings using a Z-Wave switch. The setup works perfectly for turning them on and off, but there’s one little quirk that’s been bugging me. Every time I turn the bulbs off, they come back on to whatever color and brightness they were last set to. I’d love for them to default to a warm white whenever I switch them on in the morning, but I’m not sure how to make that happen automatically.

I’ve tried a few things to solve this. First, I looked into using the Smart Lighting app, but the color options there aren’t accurate at all, which just leads to some weird hues. Then, I thought maybe HomeKit could help since I’m already using it for other stuff. I set up an automation to reset the bulbs to warm white every day at 1 AM. Unfortunately, HomeKit’s timing features aren’t reliable enough for this, so that didn’t work out.

Next, I wondered if SmartThings had an option to change the bulb color without turning them on, maybe at a specific time. I also considered using IFTTT as a backup plan. From what I understand, IFTTT can change the bulb color at a set time, but I’m not sure if it will do so without turning the bulbs on first. That’s a bit of a dealbreaker for me since I want the bulbs to stay off until I manually turn them on in the morning.

I’m really hoping someone out there has figured out a way to make this work. Whether it’s through SmartThings, HomeKit, or another service, I’d love to hear your solutions. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
