HI everyone, I having a problem with a humidity and temperature sensor. It stops from times to times, getting some alarms in the basic guard mode but this week I’ve found another weird problem. In an attemp to bring it closer to my main hub a M3 to check connection issues, I’ve noticed that after a period of 20m or even less the hub shutdowns it’s operation going offline. The hub is connected by RJ45 lan cable. I’eve tryed to restart and the same behaviour, after 20 minutes the m3 goes offline. I have another hub a g3 cam that’s is working great even without the assistance of the m3.
@rleite_pt M3 is offline and appears to primarily stem from an Ethernet communication issue via RJ45. Please perform the following checks:
Router Issues: Investigate if there are any problems with the router configuration or connectivity.
Hardware Inspection: Verify the RJ45 port connection, network cables, and other physical components for defects or loose connections.
Alternative Connectivity Test: Try switching the M3 to Wi-Fi communication mode and monitor whether the issue persists. This comparison will help narrow down whether the problem is specific to the Ethernet setup or the device itself.
@rleite_pt Hi Ricardo, sorry to hear about the issues with your temperature and humidity sensor and M3 hub. It sounds like a tricky situation—especially the M3 hub going offline after moving the sensor closer, even with a LAN connection.
From the information we have, common offline issues with temperature and humidity sensors are often related to distance from the hub, battery levels, or interference (like metal surfaces) . However, we don’t have specific details about the M3 hub shutting down under the scenario you described.
It might help to check if there’s any potential interference near the M3 hub now that the sensor is closer, or if the LAN connection is stable (maybe try a different cable or port). Since your G3 cam hub is working well, that could also be a clue—perhaps the M3 hub has a unique setting or hardware quirk.
Have any other community members noticed similar behavior with the M3 hub? Sharing your experiences could help Ricardo troubleshoot.

@rleite_pt Hi Ricardo, sorry to hear about the trouble with your M3 hub and temperature/humidity sensor. For the M3 hub going offline, here are some checks to try: ensure it’s updated to the latest firmware, connected to the same local network as your phone, and verify your router supports IPv6 (required for Matter devices). You can also try restarting both the hub and the sensor.
As for the sensor occasionally stopping, common reasons for offline issues include distance from the hub, low battery, or installation on a metal surface (which can interfere with the signal). Since you moved it closer, maybe double-check the battery and avoid metal surfaces.
Have others in the community experienced similar hub behavior? Feel free to share your insights! If the problem persists, reaching out to Customer Service through the Aqara Home App (Profile > Help & Feedback > Customer Service) could help resolve it efficiently.
@rleite_pt Hi Ricardo, sorry to hear about the trouble with your M3 hub and temperature/humidity sensor. From the information we have, the reference materials mainly cover common issues with the temperature and humidity sensor itself (like offline problems due to distance, battery, or metal surfaces) but don’t specifically address the hub going offline after moving the sensor closer.
It’s great you shared this—maybe other community members have encountered similar situations and can chime in with their experiences.
