I just found a funny way to use the Aqara door sensor!

I bought a smart Plug- it powers the projector and can be turned on/off with apple home.

I use the ESMART canvas with IR remote. By using the aqara Hub M2 you can send (on the aqara app) an IR signal to the canvas to start descending. I haven’t found a way to export the IR control to HomeKit… But maybe there is an HomeKit IR remote somewhere to buy. You could also just do an aqara automation with like a button from aqara to lower/raise the canvas. If you implement the sensor, wich works with HomeKit, you can translate (the canvas having fully lowered) to an output- Like I did!
I hope this message helps!

You can use a smart plug to turn on the projectors. You first have to try just plugging them in- if they turn on, the smart plug will work.

That’s a very creative use of a door sensor! It’s great to see people finding new ways to use simple devices.

I did something similar with mine — I put a door sensor in my mailbox, so I know when the post arrives. These little sensors are surprisingly useful for all kinds of automations.
