I'm new to Aqara, anything I should know?

I would like to upgrade security around the house with mobile alerts. Any tips for a newbie.

Hello.
When building an Aqara smart home, in order to clearly understand the dependency of notifications, you need to understand how the data exchange structure in a smart home is organized. Such an understanding will make it impossible to lose communication for critical sensors. For example, a person has a smart outlet, inserted it into the workplace, then connected some Zigbee sensor (closing, motion, etc.), then at some point (unconsciously) pulled it out. Which will lead to a break in communication and, accordingly, the absence of a critical notification.
The communication algorithm is as follows “Zigbee (battery) → Zigbee (repeater, 220 v with zero) → M2 → WiFi<-E1 <-Zigbee (repeater, 220 v with zero)<-Zigbee (battery)”, or “Zigbee (battery) → M2 → WiFi<-E1 <-Zigbee (battery)” (if without repeater) The gateways in the algorithm are written as an example.

Hello @morning_glory
An option to secure the perimeter and observe what is happening is cameras with motion detection, human detection, and a floodlight.
Aqara has two outdoor cameras, the G5pro Camera Hub G5 Pro - Aqara and G100 Aqara Camera G100: Secure Inside and Out .
The G5pro is a hub camera with a bunch of cool features and if you need to expand the coverage for your aqara devices and use them outdoors, this is the best choice. For indoor use there is the Aqara Y100 kit Camera Protect Kit Y100
