I have encountered some signal problems with my FP300 sensor because my G3 camera hub was far away. To improve the signal, I installed a T2 Zigbee module halfway between the hub and the sensor. You can extend your network range beyond 7–10 m by using devices like Aqara Smart Plugs, Aqara bulbs, Aqara relays (with neutral), or Aqara Wall Switches (with neutral), since they’re powered by the home’s electricity and act as repeaters.
A couple of practical tips that usually help make the improvement stick:
- Placement rules of thumb: keep the single-hop distance reasonable (about ≤10 m, ideally no more than 2 walls) and spread sub-devices more evenly across the space.
- If a sensor doesn’t “choose” the repeater reliably: a common trick is to force a re-route by temporarily powering off the hub, then re-pairing/refreshing the accessory connection (triple-press reset on the accessory), and powering the hub back on.
