Incomptibilty between Shutter Switch H2 and 4 wire bubendorff motor

Hi,
I installed an Aqara Shutter Switch H2 EU with my Bubendorff wired roller shutter (4-wire motor). The original Hager WS300 wall switch works perfectly.

The Aqara powers on, and I can hear the relays clicking when pressing the up/down buttons or running calibration, but the motor remains completely silent and does not move.

Wiring: red to L, blue to N (added from the existing neutral connection), black to L2 (up), and grey to L1 (down). The motor works normally when I reinstall the original Hager switch.

Any ideas what could cause this, or how to check compatibility and troubleshoot the wiring?

@pirioua29 Hi there! Thanks for sharing the detailed setup info — that always makes troubleshooting way smoother.

The fact that you hear relays clicking but the motor stays completely silent is a strong clue. Since the original Hager WS300 works fine, we can likely rule out the motor itself. Here are a few things worth checking:

1. Verify your wiring against the Shutter Switch H2 EU terminals
The H2 is designed for 4-wire bi-directional AC motors with up/down/pause control. Double-check that your motor wires (black/grey) are landing on the correct load terminals — sometimes L1/L2 orientation matters for direction, but more critically, some motors need specific terminal pairing. Your description has black to L2 (up) and grey to L1 (down); try swapping these to rule out a directional mismatch, though typically that would still produce some motor hum.

2. Neutral integrity
You mentioned blue to N was “added from the existing neutral connection.” Make sure this neutral is solid — a loose or shared neutral can power the switch electronics (explaining the clicks and LED) while failing to complete the motor circuit under load. Test voltage between L and N at the switch terminals under load if you have a multimeter handy.

3. Motor type compatibility
The Shutter Switch H2 EU controls “4-wire bi-directional AC motors”. Some Bubendorff motors (especially older or specific models) use a different control logic — electronic vs. mechanical reversal, or require a common wire configuration that differs from standard. The Hager WS300 may handle this more flexibly. Do you have the exact Bubendorff model number? That would help confirm.

4. Calibration behavior
You mentioned running calibration — did the motor attempt any movement during this, or did it fail silently throughout? If calibration completed without movement, the switch may think it’s controlling a motor when it’s actually not engaging properly.

If none of these steps resolve it, this might be a compatibility edge case that needs deeper technical review. You seem to be experiencing an issue with Shutter Switch H2 EU motor compatibility and wiring troubleshooting. You can contact customer support for assistance.
