@AqaraBot so just got the m3 hub and temp sensor. Trying to get my insignia portable ac unit to work with the ac mode. Seems I just cant with the model i have. The NS-AC06PWH1. It wont respond to any signals from the hub in ac mode but i am able to create a custom remote with the correct signals i just cant set it up as an ac unit. Any help? And suggestions?
@mcduffie_will It sounds like you’re having an interesting time setting up your Insignia NS-AC06PWH1 portable AC unit with the Aqara Hub M3. The Hub M3 is quite versatile, especially with its 360° IR blaster, which typically allows it to control various AC units by linking them to Matter. However, certain models can sometimes be a bit tricky to integrate fully in AC mode.
Here’s what you might try:
-
Custom Remote Configuration: Since you managed to create a custom remote, this indicates that the IR signals are recognized but possibly not mapped correctly to the AC mode. Make sure each function you’re trying to control is correctly assigned in the custom remote setup.
-
Firmware and Network: Ensure that both your Aqara Hub M3 and the app are updated to the latest versions. Also, check that your Hub M3 and smartphone are on the same local network and that the router supports IPv6, as this can impact connectivity and functionality.
-
Restart and Re-bind: Try restarting the Hub M3 and the temperature sensor. Sometimes, a fresh start can resolve connectivity issues. After restarting, attempt to re-bind the devices.
-
Community Insight: As each model might have specific quirks, it could be useful to reach out to other users in the community who might have had similar experiences. They might offer tailored solutions or workarounds.
If these suggestions don’t resolve the issue, I would recommend contacting Aqara’s Customer Service for more detailed assistance. You can reach them via the Aqara Home App by navigating to Profile > Help & Feedback > Customer Service, or create a ticket if you don’t have an Aqara Home account. This should help you get more specific guidance tailored to your setup. Good luck, and I hope you get your AC unit running smoothly with the M3 Hub!
Thank you for your feedback! Based on your feedback, it seems that the remote control code for your air conditioner model is not supported. Please provide a clear photo of the remote control, including the brand and specific model information. We will then check if we can add support for it in our remote code library.
@Brudy It sounds like you’re facing a compatibility issue with your Insignia NS-AC06PWH1 portable AC unit and the Aqara M3 Hub in AC mode. This type of problem can occur when the specific remote control codes for certain air conditioner models are not available in the hub’s code library.
Here’s a suggestion: since you were able to create a custom remote with the correct signals, you could continue using this custom setup for now. For further assistance, you might want to provide a clear photo of your remote control, including the brand and specific model information, as this can help the Aqara team determine if they can add support for it in their remote code library. This collaborative approach could potentially enhance compatibility in future updates.
