Hey everyone! I’ve recently been diving into the world of RGBIC LED strip lights and wanted to share my experiences and some tips for anyone looking to install them. First off, I have to say, these lights are a game-changer for adding some serious ambiance to any room. Whether it’s for a movie night, a cozy evening, or just brightening up a space, they’ve been a hit in my home. 
When I first started, I was a bit overwhelmed by all the options and how to go about the installation. I mean, who knew there was so much to consider? But after a bit of research and some trial and error, I’ve got a system down. Here’s what I learned:

Placement is Key: Before you even start peeling off the backing, figure out where you want these bad boys. I went with under my TV and along the baseboards in my living room. It gives a nice, even glow and really makes the room pop. Plus, it’s easy to hide the wires behind the furniture. Just remember, corners can be tricky, so invest in some corner connectors if you’re aiming for a seamless look.

Clean Your Surfaces: I can’t stress this enough. Make sure the area where you’re installing the strips is clean and dry. I used some isopropyl alcohol to wipe everything down, and it made a world of difference. No sticky residue or bubbles—just a smooth, even application.

Dry Fit First: This was a lifesaver. I laid out the strips without peeling off the adhesive to make sure everything lined up perfectly. It gave me a chance to adjust any gaps or overlaps before committing. Pro tip: Use some painter’s tape to hold the strips in place during this step. It’s a small thing, but it makes a big difference.

Power and App: Once everything was in place, I plugged them in and downloaded the Govee Home app. The app is super user-friendly, and I was up and running in no time. I love the preset scenes and the ability to customize the colors to match my mood. It’s like having a mini-lighting studio right in my living room!

Backup Mounts: If you’re worried about the adhesive not holding, especially in humid areas, I’d recommend using some backup mounts or clips. They add an extra layer of security and give you peace of mind knowing your lights are here to stay.
One thing I’d caution against is trying to do a quick install. Take your time, plan everything out, and don’t hesitate to ask for help if you’re unsure about something. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither will your LED masterpiece!
