Integrating Aqara and Wyze Devices: A Smooth Journey with a Few Hiccups

Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to share my journey of integrating various smart devices into my home ecosystem. It’s been an enlightening experience, and I must say, the support from this community has been invaluable. I’ve managed to successfully set up several devices, but I’m facing a minor issue that I could use some help with.I started with Aqara motion sensors and Wyze cameras, both of which have been performing exceptionally well. The Aqara sensors provide reliable motion detection, and the Wyze cameras offer excellent video quality. I’ve integrated these devices with my Homey hub, which has been the backbone of my smart home setup. The integration process was straightforward, thanks to the detailed guides available on the platform. However, I’ve encountered a small hiccup with my Wyze cameras. The video history feature isn’t working as expected—I can’t view any recorded footage beyond a couple of seconds. I’ve tried formatting the SD card, updating the firmware, and even reaching out to Wyze support, but the issue persists. It’s quite frustrating, especially since I rely on these cameras for monitoring.I’m also looking to enhance my setup by adding more automation rules. I’ve heard about the potential of using OpenHAB for more complex automations, but I’m not entirely sure where to start. I’m considering setting up a Raspberry Pi to run OpenHAB alongside my Homey hub. Does anyone have experience with this setup and could offer some tips or resources?Another area I’m exploring is energy monitoring. I’ve come across the RFXCOM module and am intrigued by its capabilities. However, I’m unsure about the compatibility with my current devices and how it integrates with Homey. Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. In closing, I want to thank everyone for their contributions to this community. The collective knowledge and willingness to help make this platform truly special. I’m eager to learn more and continue expanding my smart home setup. Let’s keep the conversation going!
