Hello everyone, I’m excited to share a workaround I discovered for integrating my Aqara curtain controllers with Google Home. While the Aqara doesn’t natively support Google Home, I found a creative solution using a Hue lamp as a trigger. Here’s how I did it:
-
Setup: I connected my Aqara curtain controller to an unused Hue lamp. This lamp acts as a trigger for my Homey automation flow.
-
Automation Flow: When I say, “Google Home, open the curtains,” the Hue lamp turns on, which triggers the Homey flow to open the curtains. Similarly, saying “close the curtains” turns the Hue lamp off, closing the curtains.
-
Renaming: I renamed the Hue lamp in Google Home to “Curtains,” making it intuitive.
This setup works perfectly, except for one minor issue: the Hue lamp emits a faint glow when on. I’d love to hear if anyone has alternative solutions or tips to avoid this light emission while maintaining the automation. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
