Recently, I moved into a condo that has a 4-wire intercom system for opening the front gate and common area door. While the building is new, the system feels outdated, especially compared to other automated features in the place. The in-unit control is a Pacific 3404, which uses three buttons: Talk, Listen, and Door. I’m really interested in leveraging SmartThings to integrate this system with my iPhone and a MagicMirror project I’m working on. Ideally, notifications would include a live camera feed or still image from the front gate. I’ve come across some promising solutions, like Chris Whong’s guide, but I’m a bit light on electronics knowledge. If anyone has tips or alternative approaches, I’d love to hear them! I’m excited to share my progress once I get it working. ![]()
