Integrating Dotti Witti with Home Assistant for Custom Notifications

Hey everyone, I’m really excited to share my journey with the Dotti Witti smart alarm clock and how I’ve been exploring its integration with Home Assistant. If you’re not familiar, the Dotti Witti is a Pixel Light that can sync with your phone and notify you with different animations and colors. It’s priced at $69.99, which I think is a great value for such a versatile device!

I came across this GitHub repository: homebridge-dotti, which seems to be a Homebridge plugin specifically for the Dotti LED. I’m really curious about how this could work with HA for custom visual notifications. For example, I’d love to set it up so that the light turns red when the temperature is high or yellow when the internet goes down. The possibilities are endless!

However, I’m also looking for similar mini smart notification lights that could work seamlessly with HA. If anyone has recommendations or tips on how to achieve this, I’d be thrilled to hear them. I’m especially interested in setting up a system where the notifications are both visual and contextual, providing clear feedback without being too intrusive.

On a related note, I stumbled upon this interesting project: Z-Command. It seems to be a platform for controlling Zigbee devices, which I think could be a game-changer for integrating more devices into my HA setup. I’m curious if others have tried it and what their experiences have been.

Lastly, I wanted to mention the Philips Hue E17 Smart Bulb that’s now available in Japan. While it’s not directly relevant to my current setup, it’s fascinating to see how smart lighting solutions are evolving, especially for niche markets like the E17 bulb size. I wonder if similar options might become available in other regions soon.

All in all, I’m really excited about the potential of these devices and platforms to enhance my smart home experience. If anyone has tips, tricks, or stories to share, please do! Let’s keep the conversation going and explore how we can push the boundaries of smart home automation further.
