Integrating External Door Sensors with Nuki Locks

Hey everyone, I’ve been really impressed with my Nuki smart lock since installing it a few months back. It’s added a whole new level of convenience to my daily routine, especially with the automatic locking feature. However, I’ve noticed something that could potentially be improved, and I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on the matter.

One feature I’ve been hoping for is the ability for the Nuki lock to integrate with an external door sensor. I currently have a Konyks door sensor installed, and while it works well on its own, I’d love to see it work seamlessly with my Nuki lock. The idea would be that if the door is opened (for example, when I arrive home late and the door closes before I can fully enter), the Nuki lock would detect this and keep the door in the open position until I physically open it. This would be particularly useful in preventing the door from closing unexpectedly, which can sometimes happen if I’m carrying groceries or have my hands full.

I’d love to hear if anyone else has encountered this scenario or has found a workaround to integrate an external door sensor with their Nuki lock. Are there any smart home enthusiasts out there who have successfully implemented a similar setup? I’m curious to know if this feature is something others would find valuable as well. Additionally, if anyone has any tips or tricks for achieving this integration, I’d be more than happy to give them a try!

This kind of integration would not only enhance the security and convenience of my smart lock but could also serve as a valuable addition for others looking to optimize their smart home setups. I’m really looking forward to hearing your insights and experiences on this topic!
