Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent success in integrating my Fibaro dimmers with PLEG. It was a bit of a challenge, but the result has been fantastic! ![]()
I’ve been using Fibaro FGD-211 dimmers for my ceiling lighting, and I wanted to enhance their functionality by adding motion sensor control. After some research, I decided to pair them with ceiling-mounted PIR sensors. The goal was to have the lights turn on when motion is detected and dim to 50% brightness. Simple enough, right?
But I wanted more flexibility. I didn’t want the dimming level to be static—ideally, I could adjust it on the fly. This is where PLEG came into play. I set up virtual switches and used conditional logic to trigger the dimmers. It worked like a charm, but I still felt something was missing.
After some digging, I realized I could take it a step further. I created a virtual slider in the Vera control panel that allows me to adjust the dimming level directly. This means I can now set the lights to any brightness I want, all from my phone or tablet. Plus, the slider remembers its position, so I don’t have to reset it every time the lights turn off.
The best part? I no longer need that virtual master switch I was using before. The system is more intuitive and user-friendly. It’s also compatible with TKBhome switches, which I plan to integrate in the future. ![]()
This setup has transformed my lighting control. It’s reliable, customizable, and has made my home feel even smarter. If anyone is looking to do something similar, I’d be happy to share more details or help troubleshoot any issues you run into!
Happy automating! ![]()
