Integrating Fibaro Intercom: A Smooth Transition from V2 to V3

Hey everyone, I’m currently working on migrating my home automation setup from Vera V2 to V3, and I wanted to share my experience with integrating the Fibaro Intercom. This device has been a cornerstone of my system, and I wanted to ensure a seamless transition without compromising functionality.

In V2, I relied on a Webbrowser control to access the intercom stream, which worked well but felt a bit hacky. Now, in V3, I’m exploring more native integration options. After some experimentation, I found that using the Media Element control with the session token generated by the browser works perfectly for live streaming. While I still prefer the Webbrowser control for its simplicity, it’s great to have alternative methods for those who want a more integrated solution.

One challenge I faced was ensuring proper authentication. The device seemed to have issues with basic authentication credentials, but using the session token from the browser bypassed this problem entirely. I also tried setting up the IP Camera control, but it didn’t work as smoothly as the Media Element approach.

If anyone else is struggling with similar issues, I recommend starting with the Webbrowser control for quick setup and then exploring the Media Element for a more polished experience. It’s also worth checking if your device supports session tokens, as this can simplify the authentication process significantly.

I’d love to hear how others have tackled Fibaro Intercom integration in V3 or if there are any tips to make this process even smoother. Let’s keep the discussion going and help each other achieve that perfect setup! :rocket:
