Integrating GE Switches with Vera: A Smooth Experience

Hey everyone! I just wanted to share my recent experience integrating GE switches with Vera, as it was a breeze and I thought others might find it helpful. I’ve been on this smart home journey for a while now, and each new device I add just makes the experience that much better. :star2:

So, I recently picked up a GE switch with an LED status light, and I was curious about customizing it to match my setup. Initially, I wasn’t sure how the LED would behave when the light was on or off, but after a bit of tinkering, I figured it out! :dart: The LED stays on when the light is on, which is super handy for quick visual checks. Plus, I managed to get the switch and outlet recognized as “Lights” in Vera, which was a minor victory but definitely worth celebrating. :tada:

I thought I’d share a quick tip for anyone else looking to set this up. If you’re using Vera, make sure to check the device settings under the “Lights” category. Sometimes, it’s just a matter of categorizing the device correctly, and Vera does a great job with that. :hammer_and_wrench:

On another note, I’ve been experimenting with creating scenes in Vera, and it’s been a game-changer. For example, I set up a scene where the lights dim and the TV turns on when I press a specific button. It’s these little automation touches that really make a home feel smart. :house::sparkles:

I’d love to hear how others are integrating their GE switches or any other devices they’ve found particularly user-friendly. Let’s keep the tips flowing! :handshake:

Looking forward to more smart home adventures! :rocket:
