I’ve recently been diving into the world of smart home integration, and I must say, it’s been an exciting journey! ![]()
One of my latest projects has been getting my Google Home to work seamlessly with my Logitech Harmony Hub. While I’ve managed to set up basic voice commands like Hey Google, turn on TV mode, I’m now curious if I can take it a step further.
Here’s where I’m at:
- I’ve successfully paired my Nvidia Shield TV with the Harmony Hub, and it works beautifully with smart devices.
- I can control my TV and other entertainment systems through Google Home, which is fantastic!
What I’m hoping to achieve:
- I’d love to be able to tell Google Home to tune into a specific TV channel using either the channel name or number. Name-based would be ideal, as it feels more natural.
My Questions:
- Is this level of integration possible with the current setup?
- Are there any third-party apps or scripts that could help bridge this gap?
- Has anyone else managed to achieve similar functionality and would be willing to share their setup?
Why This Matters to Me:
As someone who values convenience and a hands-free experience, being able to switch channels with just my voice would be a game-changer. It would complete the smart entertainment ecosystem I’m trying to build.
Looking Forward:
I’m really hopeful that this integration is achievable. If not, I’m curious if there are alternative devices or hubs that might offer this functionality out of the box. Either way, I’m excited to explore and learn more about the possibilities!
