Hi everyone, I hope you’re all having a great start to the spring season! I wanted to share my recent experience integrating Govee lights into my home automation setup, particularly for the upcoming Easter celebrations. ![]()

I’ve always been a fan of how smart lighting can completely transform the ambiance of a space, and this year, I decided to take it to the next level. I’ve been using Govee lights for a while now, and their RGB capabilities and app integration have been a game-changer for me. This Easter, I wanted to create a magical atmosphere in my living room and garden, and I thought it would be fun to automate the lights to match the holiday theme.
Here’s what I did: I connected my Govee lights to my Home Assistant setup using their Zigbee protocol. The integration was surprisingly smooth, and I was able to control them through both the Govee app and my smart home hub. I set up a scene where the lights cycle through spring colors—pinks, greens, and yellows—creating a vibrant and festive vibe. I even programmed them to change colors gradually throughout the day, which adds a dynamic touch to the decorations.
One thing I found particularly useful was the ability to schedule these scenes in advance. Easter morning is all about surprises, so having the lights automatically switch to a brighter, more lively setting at sunrise was a nice touch. I also integrated motion sensors so that if anyone walks into the living room after dark, the lights switch to a softer, more welcoming setting. It’s these little details that make the home feel truly smart and personalized.
I’d love to hear how others are using smart lighting for seasonal decorations. Have you tried automating your lights for holidays? What’s your favorite setup? ![]()
