I’ve been on an exciting journey integrating my Home Assistant setup with Zigbee sensors, and I wanted to share my experiences and tips with the community. 
Starting with the Philips Hue starter kit, I was immediately impressed by the ease of setup and the rich color options. However, I wanted to expand beyond just lighting, so I decided to incorporate Xiaomi Mi Light Detectors for motion and light sensing. Initially, I faced some challenges with getting the automation to trigger correctly, but after tweaking the settings and conditions, everything started working smoothly! 
One of the most rewarding parts of this project was setting up a motion-activated hallway light. Using AppDaemon, I created a script that turns on the lights when motion is detected and dims them after a period of inactivity. It’s a simple yet effective solution that enhances my daily routine. 
I also explored the Shelly Duo for controlling my standing lamps. Combining three Shelly Duos into a single device group made managing the lights so much easier, especially when creating scenes or integrating them into broader automation routines. It’s amazing how grouping devices can simplify control and enhance the user experience.
