I’m really excited to share my journey of integrating some legacy systems into my smart home setup! 
I’ve been working on connecting an older PLC system (like the Moeller PS4) with OpenHAB, and it’s been a fascinating challenge. I’ve managed to set up a basic project using VBA and Java to communicate through a DLL file, and it’s been incredible to see how these older systems can still play a role in a modern smart home ecosystem. If anyone has tips or experiences on working with such legacy systems, I’d love to hear them!
On a lighter note, I’ve also been experimenting with creating virtual door sensors using AND operations with physical sensors. It’s been a great way to ensure that both doors are properly closed before triggering certain automations. The satisfaction of seeing everything work seamlessly is unparalleled!
