Integrating MAX! Thermostats with openHAB: A Smooth Experience

As I’ve been delving into the world of home automation, I’ve been on a quest to integrate my heating system into my openHAB setup. After some research, I came across the MAX! thermostats, specifically the 99017A0 model, which seemed to tick all the boxes for functionality and affordability. However, I wanted everything to be controlled through my Raspberry Pi without relying on the MAX! Cube.

I reached out to the community to ask if additional hardware like a USB CUL Stick would be necessary to connect these devices. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with several members sharing their successful setups. It turns out that with the right configuration, the MAX! thermostats can indeed be integrated seamlessly into openHAB without needing extra hardware.

One member even shared their experience of controlling five heaters effortlessly, which gave me the confidence to proceed. I decided to give it a try, and I must say, the setup was smoother than I anticipated. The thermostats paired perfectly with my Raspberry Pi, and now I have full control over my heating system directly from openHAB.

This experience has been a great learning curve, and it’s amazing to see how a community-driven platform like openHAB can make complex integrations feel so straightforward. If anyone else is looking to integrate MAX! thermostats, I’d highly recommend exploring the possibilities within openHAB—it’s a game-changer for home automation enthusiasts! :rocket:
