Integrating Orvibo and Shelly Devices for a Seamless Smart Home Experience

I’ve been on a journey to create a seamless smart home setup, and I wanted to share my experiences with integrating Orvibo and Shelly devices. Both brands have been fantastic additions to my ecosystem, but the process wasn’t without its challenges.

Starting with Orvibo, I initially struggled with getting the IR blaster to work consistently. After some trial and error, I discovered that running the setup from the command line provided more reliable results than relying solely on the OpenHAB interface. It’s a small tweak, but it made a big difference in my setup.

Moving on to Shelly, I’ve been absolutely impressed with their Dimmer 2 module. Replacing the outdated dimmer in my FLOS ceiling rose was a breeze, and the integration with my existing smart switches has been seamless. The ability to control everything through my smartphone has completely transformed how I manage lighting in my home.

One of the key lessons I’ve learned is the importance of thorough research and community support. Forums like this have been invaluable in troubleshooting issues and finding creative solutions. For instance, when I encountered socket errors with Orvibo, checking the port usage and adjusting settings resolved the problem entirely.

I’d love to hear from others who have successfully integrated multiple brands into their smart home setups. What challenges did you face, and how did you overcome them? Sharing experiences like these really helps us all improve our setups!

Cheers to building a smarter home together! :rocket:
