Hello everyone, I wanted to share my experience integrating Philips Hue smart lights with Inovelli Red Series switches. As a newcomer to Hubitat, I found this integration both exciting and a bit challenging, but ultimately very rewarding.I’ve been using Philips Hue for years, with 64 devices in my setup. Transitioning to a local hub like Hubitat was a new adventure. I successfully set up Philips Hue scenes within Hubitat using the CoCoHue Drivers. The real fun started when I integrated my Inovelli Red Series on/off switches. These switches are fantastic for controlling my outdoor Philips Hue lights, especially for setting up festive scenes like my Christmas lights. One feature I wanted was notifications on the Inovelli switches when the outdoor lights changed scenes. Specifically, I wanted the LED on the switch to flash green when the Christmas scene was activated and return to pink when it was off. While setting up the rule for the Christmas scene was straightforward, getting the notification LED to work took some trial and error. After some research and tinkering, I figured out how to trigger the notification. Now, when I press the Condition button on the outdoor switch, it not only changes the lights to the Christmas scene but also flashes the LED green. It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference in terms of visibility and convenience. This experience taught me the importance of thorough testing and the value of community resources. If you’re looking to integrate different smart devices, I recommend starting with simple setups and gradually expanding. Don’t hesitate to explore forums and documentation for tips and troubleshooting advice.Overall, I’m thrilled with how my setup turned out. It’s a great example of how combining different smart devices can enhance home automation. If anyone has questions or needs help with similar integrations, feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to share what I’ve learned!
