Hey everyone, I’m new to the world of smart home automation and I’m trying to figure out how to integrate a Shelly 1L into my existing lighting setup. I live in an older building with a 12V lighting system, which unfortunately doesn’t provide enough voltage for the Shelly 1L. I’ve heard that the Shelly 1 might be a better fit, but I’m not entirely sure.
I decided to try placing the Shelly 1L directly on the ceiling, connecting it to the existing light fixture. The ceiling only has two wires—phase and neutral—which should provide enough voltage for the Shelly 1L. I’m hoping this setup will work, but I’m not entirely confident about how to wire it properly.
I’ve done some research online, but I haven’t found any clear instructions or similar setups. If anyone has experience with this kind of installation or can provide some guidance, I would greatly appreciate it! I’m really excited to get started with smart home automation and would love to learn more about the possibilities. Thanks in advance for your help!
