I’ve recently embarked on the exciting journey of home automation, and I must say, it’s been a fascinating ride! One of my first projects was integrating my Shelly 2.5 Roller switches into Home Assistant. I’ve managed to get the sensor data up and running, but I’m now looking to take it a step further by automating the roller’s open/close functionality and incorporating a slider for percentage control.
I’ve come across some helpful scripts online, but I’m still experimenting to find the perfect setup. For instance, I’ve tried using the REST API platform in configuration.yaml to pull power consumption data, and it’s been working like a charm. However, I’m eager to expand this to include more interactive controls.

On a lighter note, it’s amazing how even small automation projects can bring so much convenience. I’m already envisioning how this integration will streamline my daily routines, from adjusting the roller shades based on sunlight to creating a seamless bedtime routine.
