Integrating Shelly Devices and Weather Sensors: My Experience and Tips

Hello everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience integrating Shelly devices into my smart home setup and how I managed to resolve a small hiccup along the way. I recently installed several Shelly 2.5 units in my home, configuring them all to run in client mode with fixed IP addresses. Initially, everything worked smoothly, and I was impressed with their reliability and ease of use. However, I noticed an unusual behavior where one of the Shelly units briefly appeared in my Wi-Fi network in AP mode, which was a bit concerning from a security standpoint. Fortunately, it reverted to client mode without any intervention on my part. I’m still curious to understand why this happened, so if anyone has insights or similar experiences, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

On another note, I’ve been exploring the integration of a weather station into my smart home ecosystem. After some research, I decided to go with the HMIP-SWO-PR Pro weather sensor from Homematic. The setup was straightforward, and I’m already benefiting from accurate outdoor temperature and humidity readings. If anyone has tips on optimizing weather data integration or recommendations for other sensors, I’d be grateful to learn more!

Lastly, I wanted to highlight how impressed I’ve been with the Shelly app’s functionality and the overall performance of these devices. They’ve seamlessly integrated with my existing setup, and I’m excited to continue expanding my smart home network. If you’re considering Shelly devices or weather sensors, I’d highly recommend giving them a try!

Happy tinkering everyone!
