Hey everyone!
I’m thrilled to join the community and share my journey into the world of smart home technology. I’ve just set up my first smart home system, and I’m absolutely loving the convenience and creativity it brings. However, I’ve hit a bit of a snag that I could really use some help with.
I recently purchased a Shelly Dimmer 2 to control my living room lights and a Philips Tap Dial to have a sleek, touch-free way to adjust the brightness. My goal is to integrate these two devices seamlessly using Homebridge. While I’ve managed to get both devices working individually, I’m struggling to get them to communicate with each other. ![]()
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- I installed the necessary plugins for both devices on Homebridge.
- I set up the Shelly Dimmer 2 as a lightbulb accessory.
- I configured the Philips Tap Dial as a remote control.
Despite these steps, the Tap Dial doesn’t seem to recognize the Shelly Dimmer 2 as a compatible device. I suspect there might be a missing configuration step or a plugin compatibility issue. Has anyone successfully paired these two devices before? If so, I’d love to hear about your setup and any tips you might have!
I’m really excited about the potential of this integration. Imagine being able to adjust the lights with a simple swipe on the Tap Dial while lounging on the couch—it would be perfect! ![]()
Thank you all in advance for your help and suggestions. I can’t wait to get this working and continue exploring the endless possibilities of smart home automation! ![]()
