I’ve been on a journey to integrate my SMA Inverter (Tripower) with my Yubii Home Center, and I thought I’d share my experience with the community. This integration has been a game-changer for monitoring my solar energy production and consumption in one centralized platform.
Initially, I was unsure if the integration was even possible, as I couldn’t find much documentation on the topic. After some research and reaching out to the community, I discovered that while there isn’t a direct integration, there are workarounds using third-party tools and custom scripts.
Here’s what I did:
- I used an MQTT broker to bridge the communication between the SMA Inverter and Yubii.
- I set up a custom script to periodically fetch data from the SMA Inverter’s API and publish it to the MQTT broker.
- Yubii was then configured to subscribe to these MQTT topics and display the data in a user-friendly dashboard.
The result? Real-time monitoring of my solar energy production, consumption, and even grid export. This has not only given me peace of mind but also helped me optimize my energy usage.
If anyone is looking to do something similar, I’d be happy to share more details or even the scripts I used. It’s a fantastic way to get more out of your solar setup and home automation system! ![]()
