As the holiday season approaches, I’m excited to share my recent project of integrating Twinkly Christmas lights into my IoT setup! 
I’ve always loved the festive glow, and this year, I decided to take it to the next level by automating them through my smart home system.
I stumbled upon the Twinkly lights on Amazon and was immediately drawn to their sleek design and compatibility with smart home ecosystems. The integration process was surprisingly smooth, thanks to some helpful guides I found online. I connected them to my existing Zigbee network using a Conbee II stick, and within minutes, they were fully integrated into my Home Assistant setup.
One of the features I’m most impressed with is the ability to control the lights through voice commands. It’s amazing how saying, ‘Hey Google, turn on the festive lights!’ instantly transforms my living room into a winter wonderland. I’ve also set up some automation rules—like dimming the lights when it gets dark or changing the color scheme based on the time of day.
To make it even more interactive, I created a custom dashboard in Home Assistant that displays real-time energy usage of the lights. It’s a fun way to keep track of how much holiday cheer I’m consuming!
