Integrating various smart devices into my home has been an incredibly rewarding experience. I recently managed to connect my Somfy awning motor to OpenHAB using a Somfy USB stick, which was a bit of a challenge but ultimately successful. The ability to control my awning remotely has added a new layer of convenience to my daily life. I’ve also been experimenting with different dashboard solutions to better visualize my smart home setup. While Dashings is quite generic, I’ve found ActionTiles to be a great fit for my needs, especially when combined with WebCoRE pistons. It’s amazing how these tools can enhance the functionality of my devices. Speaking of devices, I recently purchased a set of Shelly 1PM units, and they are impressing me with their compact design and reliability. Integrating them into my existing system has been smooth, and I’m excited to explore more possibilities with them. One of my favorite projects has been creating a custom dashboard to monitor my energy consumption. Using the Apex Charts Card, I’ve managed to display my electricity usage in a clear and visually appealing manner. This has not only helped me keep track of my usage but also motivated me to be more mindful of my energy habits. I’m also thrilled about the upcoming release of the Aqara M100 hub. While it has a limited device capacity, it’s perfect for those looking to dip their toes into Matter and Thread connectivity. I’m eager to see how it performs and how it can complement my existing setup. Overall, the journey of integrating and customizing my smart home has been filled with learning and satisfaction. Each new device or tool I add brings me closer to my goal of creating a seamless and efficient living environment. I’m excited to continue this adventure and look forward to sharing more experiences and tips with the community.
