Hello everyone! I wanted to share my recent experiences with integrating a few smart home devices into my setup. It’s been quite a journey, and I thought it might be helpful for others who are going through similar processes.
First off, I’ve been working with the Fibaro FGPB-101 button and Vera. Initially, I was a bit puzzled because no matter how many taps I used, it always triggered the one-tap scene. After some testing, I realized that the issue was with how the scenes were configured in Vera. By adjusting the settings and ensuring that each tap action was correctly mapped to the respective scenes, I was able to resolve the problem. It was a bit frustrating at first, but figuring it out was rewarding!
Another project I’ve been working on is integrating my Reverie 5D Smart Beds with my home automation system. Up until recently, I was using the SmartBed MQTT integration with Home Assistant, but it wasn’t very reliable. After some research and troubleshooting, I decided to design a DIY serial controller using the Hubduino project. This approach allowed me to create a direct integration with HE, bypassing the need for multiple components. The result has been fantastic—everything works smoothly now, and I couldn’t be happier with the setup!
Lastly, I came across the Fantahome switch and wanted to integrate it into my HA environment. However, it only works with its own app, which is a bit of a hurdle. I’m curious if anyone has found a workaround or a solution to integrate this switch into a broader smart home ecosystem. If anyone has tips or experiences to share, I’d be grateful to hear them!
Overall, integrating these devices has been a mix of challenges and triumphs. It’s amazing how a little problem-solving and creativity can turn even the most frustrating issues into opportunities for learning and improvement. If anyone has similar experiences or tips, I’d love to hear about them!
Cheers,
