Hello everyone, I’ve been exploring the integration of smart lighting and energy monitoring systems in my home, and I wanted to share my experiences and insights with the community.
I recently purchased some TP-Link Tapo P110 smart plugs primarily for energy monitoring. While I can control the plugs through Homey, I’ve been struggling to get detailed energy usage graphs in Homey Insights. This has been a bit frustrating, as I’d love to track my energy consumption more effectively. I’ve heard that some brands use different methods for energy monitoring, which might not be compatible with Homey. If anyone has suggestions or alternative plug recommendations, I’d be grateful!
On another note, I’ve been experimenting with Govee smart lights and have been impressed by their color spectrum and brightness. However, I’ve encountered an issue where the lights occasionally announce “location doesn’t detect a water leak” randomly, even though there’s no water leak detected. It’s a bit concerning and disruptive, especially at odd hours. Has anyone else experienced this, and do you know of a fix?
I also wanted to mention my success with the Echo Show 5. After upgrading my router, I noticed a significant improvement in the device’s responsiveness and overall performance. It’s now seamlessly integrated into my smart home setup, controlling lights, playing music, and providing weather updates.
Lastly, I’ve been exploring the use of Z-Wave devices with the Z-Wave JS UI. While the setup was a bit challenging at first, I’ve managed to integrate several devices successfully. I’d recommend checking out the Z-Wave JS documentation for anyone looking to expand their smart home ecosystem.
Overall, my journey into smart home automation has been both rewarding and occasionally frustrating. I’m excited to continue learning and improving my setup. Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your experiences and tips!
