Hey everyone, I’ve been working on a fun project to create a haunted house effect in my home using smart lighting. It’s been a great way to get creative with my GE Z-Wave switches! First, I started by mapping out all the lights in my house and grouping them by location. This helped me visualize how I could create a dynamic light show. I then set up a series of scenes in my smart home app that randomly toggle lights on and off at different intervals. The key was to make it look unpredictable, almost like the house is possessed!
For those interested, I used a combination of scheduled routines and random delay functions to achieve the effect. I also adjusted the brightness levels to create a flickering effect, which adds to the eerie atmosphere. While I’m still tweaking the timing and intensity, the initial results have been really impressive!
If you’re looking to try something like this, I’d recommend starting with a small area, like a hallway or a living room, to test your setup. Once you’re comfortable, you can expand to the whole house. It’s a great way to get the most out of your smart lighting system and have some spooky fun!
