Integrating Smart Plugs and Enhancing Automation Logic

Hi everyone! I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately and wanted to share some of my experiences and tips. I recently purchased a set of IKEA Inspellning Zigbee plugs and Eve Energy Matter over Thread plugs, and I’m really impressed with their performance. However, I’ve noticed that both require updates to function optimally, which brings me to my first question: Is there a way to update these devices through my Homey Pro hub without needing additional routers? I’d love to keep everything centralized and avoid the hassle of managing multiple devices.

On another note, I’ve been experimenting with automating my air conditioning system. My goal is to have the AC turn on during the night if the temperature exceeds a certain threshold. I’ve tried setting up a simple time range combined with temperature checks, but I’ve found that if the temperature is already above the threshold when the time range is met, the automation doesn’t trigger. Does anyone have any insights or suggestions on how to ensure the system constantly checks the temperature and triggers the AC accordingly?

I’d also love to hear about others’ experiences with smart plugs and their integration with hubs like Homey. Have you encountered similar update issues, and how did you resolve them? Additionally, if anyone has tips on refining automation logic, especially for temperature-based systems, I’d be grateful for the advice!

Looking forward to your thoughts and experiences!
